LUSH Cup O’Coffee Exfoliating Mask

Cup O’Coffee Exfoliating Mask

A couple months ago i went on holiday and as my tan slowly fades it’s left my face blotchy in colour around the cheeks (insert sad faces here). Its getting colder, i will get paler and the tan fading is super evident with no makeup.

The best way i can get rid of this skin issue besides bleaching (HELL NO TO BEACH!) or using foundation everyday is by regularly exfoliating so the dead tanned skin will slowly leave , leaving my face one colour, soft and shine and damn well cute.

Recently I saw a photo of Lush Cup O’coffee advertised on their Instagram page and thought how interesting would that be for a face mask. A COFFEE face mask. Actual coffee!

After doing a bit of research I found that the Cup O’Coffee face mask was an Oxford street exclusive which is now in stores nationwide, but also originally marketed at men even though there are extensive reviews by women and men.

Coffee has many health benefits when used on the skin:

  • It can reduce swelling and inflammation when added to targeted areas like under the eyes. This means no more puffy eyes!
  • Coffee can be used to brighten skin
  • Whilst normal coffee beans would be a challenge to scrub your face with. Grounded coffee beans can provide a nice soft exfoliant.
  • is full of antioxidants
  • and enhances blood circulation

My opinion before hand

Cup of coffee is for both the face and the body. It’s a mask which hydrates and exfoliates. With extracts of vanilla and chocolate this coffee mask smells delicious (and taste it too)! I’m not a fan of how actual coffee smells but this is defo yum.

The ingredients look amazing, Kaolin known for exfoliating properties cleanses impurities from pores and the coffee scrub helps buff the skin making the face glisten and glow. The coriander seed oil stimulates skin with its spicyness, the vetivert oil restores moisture leaving your face and body soft like a babies behind and the ground coffee provides a soft exfoliate which leaves the face really glow!

My opinion afterward

There were lots of bits of coffee which was good for really scrubbing the skin, it had a bit of a grainy feel which was ok, but like everyone says it wasn’t harsh at all only thing that i didn’t like was it took ageeesss to get the small pieces off! My skin did feel amazing afterward. It’s silky soft. My cheeks feel soft and smooth and my skin feels super moisturised too! I would say that this mask hydrated my face and it left it feeling amazing. The coffee heightened my sense of smell in the morning making me feel alert. And i generally don’t like the smell of actual coffee but i think the vanilla and cocoa extract soften that smell so it doesn’t smell incredibly bitter.I wouldn’t scrub my face with this everyday as your not meant to exfoliate so regularly, but do think this is amazing enough to use once/twice a month and i defiantly give it 5 stars. It taste yummy too. Its practically 98% natural (besides the perfume) as all ingredients are naturally derived and the coffee beans are kept in cold water to keep all the vitamins locked in. So the tiniest taste won’t kill you for those thinking I’m LOCO. It taste how it smells if your curious.

I suppose i make blog post, so you don’t have to do weird things like this. Ha.

Have you tried this mask, are there other lush face products you would recommend or want me to blog about? Let me know.

  1. I’m going to have to try this one. I’m the same never liked the smell of coffee…don’t drink it. Yet I’m smothering myself in coffee scrubs it’s very awakening and the properties of various coffee beans are amazing.

I’m currently using LUSH Don’t Look At Me. Seems to be very popular mask, always sold out in my store but I like the brightening properties as I suffer from pigmentation so anything to help. xo
